Buehler YMCA Strong Kids provides financial assistance to kids, families, adults and seniors to obtain memberships and attend programs offered by the Buehler YMCA.

The YMCA is a charity.  Our promise is to never turn anyone away for their inability to pay.

In 2009, we raised over $160,000 at Buehler through our fundraising efforts.  We awarded over $225,000 in assistancefor memberships and programs.  We awarded more than the funds we actually raised. Funds raised here, stay here.

Buehler relies on support from United Way, private foundations, corporations and donations from the community and members to help support our programs and services through our Strong Kids campaign.

Help them belong.  Help them become.

...because of your support, there’s a kid out there who will try something new.
...because of your support, a family can spend time together.
...because of your support, a parent won’t have to worry for a while since their child is safe.
...because of your support, a senior who depends on us will find us here.
...because of your support, there’s an adult who is benefiting from a little stress relief while searching for a job.
...because of your support, there are many people who can BELONG to Buehler YMCA.

They're ready to start "Kickin In", so can you!

Y Stories You Should Hear

MY SON
Recently my son’s occupational therapist asked if he could start adding aqua-therapy to his service plan. My son has cerebral palsy which causes his leg muscles to fire so much and so often that he has already had one major corrective surgery. We could not afford a full membership to the Y, but were granted a scholarship that allows us to come. Thank you for bringing joy and hope into my son’s life.

A NEW HOME
We arrived from Mexico 2 years ago. Our situation was pretty difficult at first because we did not know anybody...no family or friends. Our lives changed the minute you provided us support and we became members. We have made friends, live our lives healthier and share our family time in a very positive way, especially during these difficult economic times.

FIXED INCOME
I am a senior and on a fixed income. I have physical problems including back pain, but when I’m in the water they seem to disappear. I’m able to do so much more and I’m sure my muscles and flexibility are improving when I work out. I have fun in the water because the people in the class are so friendly and caring. Being a member of the Y is very beneficial for my health, wellness and emotional well-being.

MY TWO DAUGHTERS
To my YMCA family, I just wanted to let you know how your generosity has helped my two daughters and myself through some rough times. We have been Y members a few years now and recently fell on some difficult times. We will never forget how much the Y’s care and concern has helped make it a little easier. My girls have been able to attend Summer Day Camp that would not have been possible without donations from such caring families. Thank you so much!
